I received a notice via paper mail about this year's Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival, so I thought I'd post it for any of you who might be interested. The Dodge Poetry Festival, held in Waterloo, NY during the month of September, is an opportunity to interact with poets such as, Maxine Kumin, Naomi Shihab Nye, Ted Kooser, Billy Collins and many more.
Friday, September 26, is Teacher Day - free admission for teachers and lots of poetry activities specific to teaching poetry.

Do you think that Teacher Day counts for about-to-be teachers??
:)
Tom, I believe you could schmooze your way into anything. Sounds like a great festival. Wonder if they are going to broadcast it via Ustream or Skype or something like that. Would love to see Billy Collins read.
I'll take that as a compliment thank you :)
And yeah, I hope they webcast it somehow too. Waterloo is quite a hike esp. during the semester like that.
No need for schmoozing Tommy O. Teacher day is free to pre-service teachers.

How far away is Waterloo? Sounds like a wonderful day!
I've done considerable research and have determined that Waterloo is somewhere in Europe and is the site of Napoleon's greatest defeat. Car pool?
